Interim Head of Production for a reconfigured location, managing low volume production of new and overhauled, marine and traction high speed diesel units as a part of a business of 200 people and 40M turnover; 2nd of 3 concurrent assignments
Production unit and additional essential functionality brought into use
Processes re-established and improved for both new build and overhaul engine sets
The result was that business critical contracts for engine sets were shipped compliant and on time, with the production unit functionality much improved
I took over the management of a production unit on completion of a reconfiguration with a number of business-critical engine set orders to build and ship against extremely tight timescales.
The aggressive delivery schedules coincided with major changes in parts logistics and the supply process, as kitting was now being done at a remote location, so I managed the process to ensure there were no negative impacts ass a result of the changes.
I managed myriad operational and technical issues as contract-specific specifications emerged.
I brought basic processes to factory operations in terms of hygiene and transparency of progress.
I brought critical test cells back into use to ensure emission compliance and marine class was achieved.
