Interim Technical Director to a £6M turnover business unit, responsible for all technical activity within the business


  • Established key technical issues for technology-driven liquids disinfection system business, in particular those creating contractual liability

  • With a very limited budget, directly addressed and resolved the most business critical issues

  • Began recovery of underlying technology and eliminated millions of pounds of liability for potentially substantial claims (for non performance)

As Interim Technical Director for a business designing and producing medium pressure ultra violet disinfection systems, I defined the critical technical issues – limiting the number of new developments, compliance and the need for a programme to rebuild the science underpinning the company’s products – whilst ensuring a balance between immediate demands and the medium term. Having defined the issues, I managed the change of direction.

Within weeks, I identified the fundamental cause of problems for a newly launched product range and took action to make the problems manageable and create a technical and commercial recovery of major contracts.
