Commercial Manager/General Manager Business Development within a £70M turnover business


  • From zero base, developed market presence through prequalification, tender and contract for balance of plant construction for the process chemical and utility scale gas fired power generation market

  • Turnover grew from £0 to £15M in new markets winning contracts in the gas power generation and process chemical sectors

As Commercial Manager, I identified new markets for an engineering construction services business.

I developed a balance of plant construction services offering into the UK utility scale CCGT and speciality/fine chemicals markets (pipework fabrication, plant installation, testing, etc).

I identified the customer base (international OEM and process contractors) and prequalified the business into these new markets.

I managed the tender and negotiation process to win balance of plant work packages on multiple power station sites and process chemical sites.

I provided a commercial support service during the won contracts execution phase.
