Interim Operations Director primarily recovering completion, commissioning and shipment of steam turbine contracts (total business 130 people £25M).


  • Drove late critical turbine contract to completion, commissioned, FAT and customer witnessed and shipped.

  • Drove reconfiguration of infrastructure creating functionality for customer witness testing (essential but not previously capable).

I managed myriad issues to get turbines complete for tests: expediting supply chain, engineering, various operational functions, third party services, etc. For some areas, developed plan “B”s.

I filled gaps directly where people or activities were missing and could not be obtained in the timescales.

For commissioning, I ensured that all resources were available – mix of external and company staff, in particular bringing in specific technical expertise. Managed consequent people issues.
